Learning at Lea
Our inclusive approach to learning at Lea enables each individual child to thrive - emotionally, socially and academically. We are proud of the quality relationships throughout our school family that we find are pivotal in creating a sense of belonging within our school community and form the foundations for conducive learning to take place.
Our children are at the heart of our curriculum and their individuality and diversity are embraced and celebrated. We believe in promoting high quality mental and physical health and ensure that discussions and learning opportunities for this are entwined throughout all areas of our curriculum.
We believe in offering experiences throughout our curriculum that promote an appreciation and understanding of the arts, our own community and the world around us. We also believe in enhancing our curriculum with our extra-curricular offer.
Woven throughout our teaching and learning are our ten school values. These values guide our children and school community to develop personally, as learners and as well-rounded individuals with skills for life. Our curriculum promotes the development of happy, inquisitive, resilient individuals through enquiry-based learning.
Learning at Lea is a unique journey that inspires ambition, creativity, curiosity and joy within a supportive climate and environment that contributes to our children becoming safe, confident and independent lifelong learners.
We aim to prepare our children with the knowledge and habits they require to succeed in the next steps of their learning and inspire them to be ambitious for their futures. Our curriculum fully meets the requirements of the National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. All subjects are carefully sequenced from the early years to build on what our children already know using metacognitive strategies. This develops the skills and knowledge they need for the future and creates links within learning.
We value and take great pride in our curriculum that allows our children to discover themselves and flourish as learners at Lea.
