The Swindell's Library

The John Swindells Library

Our school library is named in tribute to John Swindells, a devoted school governor who served our school for an incredible 30 years. The John Swindells Library stands as a testament to his enduring commitment to both education and the wider school community. This inviting space is designed to honour his contribution and foster a lifelong love of reading and learning amongst our students.

Our library offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere where children are encouraged to read for pleasure and explore new worlds through books. With cosy reading corners and vibrant displays, it is a place where curiosity is nurtured and imaginations are sparked.

Bookshelves are thoughtfully curated with regular themed focusses that align with current topics being discussed in class, seasonal interests and class interests. These displays are designed to capture children's attention and enhance their learning both inside and outside the classroom. Pupils are actively encouraged to borrow books and take them home, helping to build a strong reading culture that extends beyond the school gates.

Whether it's diving into a gripping adventure, exploring fascinating facts, or discovering stories that reflect their own lives, the John Swindells Library is a cherished space where every child can find something to inspire them.
