It has come to light that a new eligibility criteria has been added to the free school meal eligibility criteria. Free school meals has now been opened up to any parents who are in receipt of universal credits. With this in mind we are asking any parents who are in receipt of universal credits to reapply for free school meals. This can be done either by visiting https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/children-education-families/schools/free-school-meals/?page=3 and clicking the green box to complete the form, or a form can be requested from the school office and we will manually submit the form. If you believe you may be entitled based on the criteria and you require any assistance with applying please do not hesitate to speak to one of the office team. If you wish to complete a paper form please speak with either a member of the office team or your class teacher and they will be able to provide you with one. If you are successful in applying for free school meals not only will your child receive free school meals for the duration of their time at Lea, but school will receive valuable funding to help support children across school and provide valuable resources for all.
