The intent for music at Lea Community Primary School is to extend children’s opportunities; raise aspiration; open children’s eyes to the world beyond their immediate environment and enable our children to live happy, healthy and productive lives.

Children at Lea Community Primary school will be given the opportunity to sing and play many different tuned and un-tuned instruments to a variety of audiences. They will develop confidence and be immersed in different genres, listening to both live and recorded music in order to develop their historical and cultural understanding. Children will also be given the opportunity to be creative; composing and improvising different pieces of music using musical knowledge and staff notation to record their ideas.
