During the UK school closures, I will be using this section of our class page to provide learning activities for our Year 4 lovelies!
Below this message, I will be adding links to some suggested educational websites and a weekly home learning grid full of activities for the children to do.
Have fun learning!
Good morning! Today is national Rice Krispies day. The Rice Krispies characters are Snap, Crackle and Pop. All of these words are examples of onomatopoeia! Can you make a comic strip with these characters using as many examples of onomatopoeia as you can?
Don't forget to check out this week's new learning grid!
I have added hyperlinks for printable resources to the learning grid. You may need to log in to Twinkl to access them. If you have not already signed up, then please visit https://www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS for one month's free ultimate access.
Good morning! I have another exciting virtual adventure for you all. Chester Zoo's Facebook page shared the following message:
As you can't come to the zoo right now, we’ll bring the zoo to you!
Join us LIVE on our Facebook page from 10am when we'll be throwing open our 'virtual gates.'
So, break up the boredom of being at home and, for the first time ever, enjoy a whole day of animal antics, live from your sofa! 🙌
We'll be featuring many of your favourites...

11:00 👉 Rothschild's giraffes 🦒
12:00 👉 Asian elephants 🐘

Did you know that today is national Spinach day? It’s not just Popeye who will be strong on Spinach Day, but everyone who chooses to celebrate the day by consuming some of this leafy green plant will get to join in the health benefits as well. Challenge yourself to eat some spinach on national Spinach day!
Why not take up a sketching lesson today too? Follow this drawing tutorial video of the character Popeye, then experiment with colour, size and drawing materials!
The amazing David Walliams is releasing a free children's audio story every day for the next month. 'Elevenses' are daily short stories from his best-selling kids' books. Make sure to tune in each day!
Extra challenge: Did you know that today is national waffle day? Using your mathematical skills, follow a recipe and measure out the ingredients
(You can find a recipe here --> http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/41499/classic-waffles.aspx)
Try to add the most exciting topping that you can! Write a food comment card after you have eaten it.
