Good morning Year 3! Wow, I can't believe it's Friday already. Just one more day of home learning for this week. Don't forget, today is your last chance to send me your 'wow work' photos on Dojos, as I'm starting to put together a slideshow of them all to share on here on Monday.

Today is also Fish and Chips Day! That sounds like the perfect excuse to have fish and chips for tea, or even try making your own.

Have a lovely weekend!

In light of recent events and coverage in the media surrounding racism, you may be wondering how to explain this to your children in a child-friendly manner. The poster uploaded above offers talking points and ways to start a conversation on this topic in order to help your child understand these awful events.

Good morning Year 3! Happy Thursday! I am loving seeing all of your photographs on Dojos of what you've been up to. So far I've seen Roman shields, fractions, telling the time, science and lots more! I can't wait to see what other photos I'm going to receive today - well done, Year 3!

Today is 'Stroke a Cat Day!' If you have a pet cat at home you can definitely take part in this. However, if like me you don't, here's a way to experience a virtual 3D tiger or lion in your home! https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/29/google-3d-animals-see-tiger-lion-panda-3d-12474596/

Have a lovely day! smiley

Good morning! Thank you to those who have already sent me pictures of your home learning. I have loved seeing what you’ve been up to!

Today is 80’s song day! Why not speak to an older family member and ask them what their favourite 80’s song is. Here’s one of my favourites:

As this week’s fun knowledge activities are all science themed, why not have a look at this today too…
The Wildlife Trust is doing a ’30 Days Wild’ program which I have signed up to:

https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/

The downloadable pack is ready in our resources section if you would like to follow along. Also, your grown-ups can sign up and they will receive extra emails throughout the month with different ideas of what ‘wild’ adventures you could take part in this month.

Happy Tuesday! Today is ‘Say something nice day’ so why not take the opportunity to make somebody smile. You might want to compliment a family member or say good morning to someone (from a distance) on your daily walk.

On the subject of saying something nice, I just wanted to remind you all what a great job you’re doing with your home learning and how I’m very proud of how well you’ve all adapted to the changes in your learning! smiley

Here is an exciting invitation from Young Voices...

At 2:30pm you are invited with families and children from across the world to pay tribute to all teachers by joining together to sing “The Power in Me” from the safety of your own homes.

You can register to get involved at youngvoices.co.uk/powerinme to access free learning resources and the song. There are also videos and things to get involved with on their YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/youngvoice28

Enjoy!

Good morning Year 3!

I hope you've all had a lovely half term in the sunshine and you're ready for another great week of home learning. Our special theme day for today is 'Doughnut Day' - can you eat a whole doughnut without licking your lips? It's a lot harder than it sounds, but I'll definitely be giving it a try today!

I'm so looking forward to seeing all your home learning photos this week! Don't forget, send me a picture on Class Dojo of a piece of wow work that you're really proud of this week. This could be a photograph of you working hard doing some PE with Joe Wicks, some great maths that you've done or a beautiful piece of writing. I can't wait to see them all! Then keep an eye on out on our class page next Monday and you might just see your wow work appear!

Have a lovely day!
