Useful Information

Headlice

Please can we request parents regularly check for and treat any presence of head lice. Contrary to popular belief, lice prefer short clean hair to either dirty or long hair. Ensure you check the whole head in particular the hairline, behind the ears and in the nape of the neck. If you find anything please check all the other members of the family and seek advice from you pharmacist.

Headlice treatment for your child may be available free of charge through the NHS Minor Ailment Scheme. The NHS Minor Ailment Scheme is available in selected pharmacies across England. Ask your local pharmacy whether they offer the scheme which is free to children under 16 and those that do not pay for prescriptions.

If you find your child has re-occurring ‘visits’, remember that this is often not a re-infestation but simply the cycle of the head lice. To minimise the risk please ensure that long hair is always tied back in school.

Food Banks

If you are in need of emergency food, clothing or household items, you can speak to Mrs Green about a voucher referral to the Foodbank or Thrift shop run by local Christian Churches. All enquiries will be treated with the upmost confidentiality.
